What makes MCH so unique?
Here are some stories of families and their experiences at Montessori Children's House.
- The greatest gift MCH has given to our children is a genuine love of learning. Our children love going to school every day and are always excited to talk about the things they are learning. The staff has always shown a tremendous amount of care and concern for our children, above and beyond what we would have ever expected.

(parents of two elementary students and one preschooler at MCH) - "For five months of the school year, we tried another very well-respected preschool/daycare in the Madison area [...]. We did not believe changing preschool providers would make much of a difference in our child because we feel, as any parent would, [our daughter] will be the best under any circumstance. However, we saw a difference in our child. At first we thought it was because of the change, but then we realized our [she] gained more freedom in her learning in Montessori system. There is no arbitrary boundary to limit her curiosity. When we returned our child to MCH, we observed an immediate difference: She was happier, more energetic, and learning a wider variety of subject matter."

- The small, comfortable environment of MCH is the perfect place to learn the social and problem solving skills that are so crucial to survival in a bigger school. Academically, MCH children are allowed to work at their own pace and level. This is especially important during the early grades when abilities within a class are extremely varied. One first grader may be reading fluently while another is just beginning sound work, for example. By the fourth grade the skill level gap closes somewhat and the whole class approach makes a bit more sense.

(former teacher and parent of one alumnus and one current student at MCH) - Being a part of the Montessori Children’s House school and community has been a blessing. The educational programs have been inspirational, developing lifelong educational and social skills. The kids love going to school. The teachers and staff are welcoming and compassionate. The community as a whole is caring and supportive. We are truly thankful to be a part of this wonderful community, and hope to continue being part of it for years to come.
